Leadership in Expertise

Jelen Colak Ivanovic leads My Language Coach with a strong background in linguistics, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), business coaching and international projects. She holds a BA in English Philology and Literature from the University of Belgrade and a Master’s degree in Ecocriticism and Ecofeminism from the University of Barcelona. Her training includes certifications in English Phonetics from the University of London, as well as accreditations in Personal and Executive Coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Relational and Team Systems Coaching.

Since founding MLC in 2012, Jelen has driven its strategic growth, specializing in personalized learning and intercultural communication. Her experience as an associate professor at the University of Barcelona has allowed her to develop effective methodologies in areas such as grammar, history of English, academic writing and preparation for Cambridge exams.

In addition to her teaching work, Jelen has played key roles in the international and humanitarian arenas. As Coordinator of International Programs at the CETA School of Tourism in Barcelona, she managed Erasmus programs, strengthening her skills in intercultural communication and administrative management. Her experience as Project Manager for the Spanish Red Cross in Serbia allowed her to develop leadership strategies in humanitarian initiatives.

Her past as a news presenter and journalist also honed her communication skills. Today, she applies her extensive experience to train her teaching team with immersive methodologies, integrating emotional intelligence, intercultural communication, project management and negotiation skills, all supported by her native command of English, Spanish and Serbo-Croatian.
